The Northwest Continent
Itrea holding the highest density human population concentrated around a select few host cities. At the heart of the continent is a vast desert expanse called “Puer Sol”, an infamous wasteland dominated by the unforgiving sun, shifting sand dunes, and sparse vegetation. Amerlyn deposits can be found scattered across Puer Sol and the rest of Itrea, and are highly sought after due to their high price and unique magical properties. It is unknown just how many of these deposits there are but the ones that are known have large mining operations controlled by the Senecan government.
Since the discovery of Amerlyn manipulation, Amerlyn supplies have quickly diminished as old mines have been depleted and new ones are harder and harder to come by. This has forced Itrea and their newly found wealth to expand beyond their boundaries in search for new deposits. Even with pushback and growing discontent from other regions, Itrea has aggressively continued their campaign of mining takeovers, threatening the long-standing peace that many have become accustomed to.
Despite the challenges of living in the harsh desert climate, the people of Itrea are extremely resilient and have created several large port cities on the outskirts of the continent that attract global merchants and serve as major trade hubs. These interconnected cities are known for their large docking ports, colorful markets, and exotic goods from foreign regions. Those unfamiliar with the area are not wise to travel the desolate and ever changing landscape.

Seneca
At the seat of power, Seneca is the largest human city in all of the continents, known for its warm colored cobblestone streets and sparkling white marble brick buildings. Inside the walls and in between the giant pillars, merchants set up shops along the bustling streets filled with people from every continent looking to find their own piece of the Senecan wealth.
Built high above the coastline and woven between the peaks of the Illtari mountains, the history of the cities’ founding goes back before the day of darkness, tracing its origins to the New God himself. Tthe unique location of Seneca was said to have been hand picked by the New God to serve as his personal palace in isolation from the rest of the world.
Positioned on the walls of Itrea’s capital, Legionnaires, a group of highly trained soldiers stand guard ready to defend the city. These fearsome warriors have been granted the title of Legionnaire by surviving the “Trial of Crixus” - a gruesome test requiring a battle in the coliseum every day for 1000 days straight. Upon completion, these exceptional warriors are awarded with an extravagant parade and an invitation to join the most elite regiment within the Senecan Army. Hundreds have completed the Trial of Crixus but countless men, women and beasts have tried, making it a highly prestigious accomplishment.

The Coliseum
Deep within the city walls, at the heart of the entertainment district, the Senecan Coliseum stands ready for those willing to risk their life and limb for bloodshed and glory. Standing tall, the Coliseum serves as the ultimate fighting grounds for many men and women, exemplifying the true nature of Itrea as a symbol of brutality and dominance.
Everyday, spectators from all of the five continents are drawn to the intensity of violent gladiatorial battles. Seduced by the ceaseless cycle of fights that are only interrupted by the necessary cleanup, spectators pack the coliseum and the surrounding entertainment district. The famous district can be heard outside the city walls, often echoing the sounds of metal clashing, crowds cheering and empathetic bargaining. These restless alleys and crowded streets are littered with local vendors ready to sell specialty flags, novelty tokens, or even throwable food and flowers.
Along the edge of the pale stone structure, there are three levels of seating for people to watch the combatants, with each level broken up by social class. While the lowest level is reserved for the rich and royal, the other two are filled with those of lower classes, ranging from scholars to blacksmiths. To those interested in the activities in the Senecan Coliseum, it is said that there is no greater experience than to sit sand-side by the coliseum and watch the sand turn red.
