The Southwest Continent
Valdor, or, as some refer to it, the ‘Southern Mesas', is a continent positioned between southern Itrea and western Dir’Ok. Large portions of the land are made up of unique reddish rock, described as exceedingly durable and unusually dry. Overtime, between the continent’s ancient rocky landscape, a network of complex valleys and deep canyons have formed. To most, the land is considered to be harsh and unforgiving, yet, to those native to the red rocks, it is a home like no other.
Many different species can be found roaming the depths of the canyons, including settlements of berserkers and carnivorous dinosaurs. Hidden from view, above the ravages below, lie a seemingly endless interconnected web of dwarven tunnels. Known only to the Dwarves that live there, these expansive tunnels provide direct channels between different landscapes and cities. Along the flat tops of the mesas and towards the peaks of mountain ranges, you may find different dragon dens or Magecraft rituals.
In the eastern portions of the landscape connecting to Dir’Ok, small patches of greenery are a common sight. These pockets of vegetation feature small dense shrubs and a few tall trees that form a natural canopy, blocking out the sun’s harsh rays. For those seeking shelter, these shaded enclaves serve as a sanctuary, offering safety and respite from the harsh elements of Valdor.
The Rocky Region
Soltum
Small villages with diverse populations and varied natures are common across the Valdorian landscape. The largest of which is Soltum, a large mining compound positioned on a cliffside connecting the Itrean desert of Puer Sol to the Valdor region. This mining territory is completely isolated, only accessible through a narrow and treacherous river system or desolate desert. It is assumed that there are hidden tunnels used by the Dwarves that provide quick passage and refuge to and from the compound.
The settlement is famous for the large deposits of Amerlyn crystals and the reluctant nature of the Dwarven miners to sell the crystals to outsiders. In recent times, as the rights of the territory are being challenged, the mining territory has become increasingly hostile as the threat of the once plentiful Amerlyn deposits to dry up increases.

The Riders
With no official governance of Valdor, it is widely accepted that the warriors of the region speak on behalf of the people. The inhabitants of the rugged land have a strong sense of camaraderie and nationalism, especially those who call themselves the Riders. Riders are indigenous Valdorians, handpicked and raised from a young age and taught the interconnectedness of the world, its inhabitants and themselves.
The exact training itself is unclear, however Riders have attested to beginning training at the age of 6 and, after confirming their Dragonblood lineage, picking their lifelong companion at the age 9. The Rider and its companion, a specific type of dragon, go through rigorous daily moral and physical training until they are ready to become a warrior of their birthplace and a speaker of the weak.
